Diano Marina
Welcome to Diano Marina, the pearl of the Gulf of Diano
The Gulf of Diano, of which Diano Marina is the main tourist centre, may not be vast but it is rich in natural and cultural beauty. The deep azure of the sea contrasts wonderfully with the lush green hills and olive groves.
Thanks to its particularly favourable climate, Diano is a perfect destination not only for classic summer vacations but also for charming and pleasant stays in autumn, winter, and spring — seasons equally inviting, mild, and bright.
Diano Marina
Diano Marina is one of the most renowned towns in the Gulf of Diano, especially noted for its beach, stretching over 3 kilometres. It begins next to the marina and extends to the foot of the cliffs of Capo Berta. The soft sand and shallow, gradually sloping seabed make it ideal for families with children.
Inland, visitors can explore typical Ligurian villages, among which stand out:
- Diano Castello:
It preserves the remains of a history among the most significant of Ligurian villages. The atmosphere here evokes a village of streets and alleys from centuries ago, where time seems to stand still.
- Diano S.Pietro:
Another charming village, an ancient settlement protected from Barbarian pirate attacks by walls around the churchyard of the parish church.
- Diano Arentino:
Formed from the union of the hamlets Costa and Chiesa, this locality is famous for its 17th-century rural chapels.
Other worthwhile excursion ideas within short distance include Laigueglia and Alassio towards Genoa; and Menton to the west, just beyond the French border.
